Personal Statement

I am a results-oriented economics scholar and passionate academic with over a decade of multidisciplinary teaching and research experience. My career focuses on the nexus of health economics, development, demography and macroeconomic analysis. Through extensive lecturing roles and collaborative research, I have engaged across Nigeria’s academic landscape—from mainstream universities to distance learning and nursing programs—demonstrating my commitment to knowledge dissemination and community impact.
I have authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, tackling pressing issues like population dynamics, healthcare financing, globalisation, and economic resilience. I have received multiple academic awards and fellowships, including best thesis recognitions and international research grants. My research strives to shape policy and empower households in health-related economic decision-making, while mentoring the next generation of African economists. My ultimate goal is to translate empirical research into practical development strategies that enhance institutional capacity, improve health outcomes, reduce poverty, and promote sustainable development across the African continent and the globe as a whole.
