Personal Statement

I am a developmental psychologist and human behaviour enthusiast, with a passion for advancing knowledge in the field of human development, with a particular focus on adolescents and young adults. My work primarily focuses on the challenges of young people in Nigeria, the challenges cut across several domains which including parenting, childhood adversities, education, among others. I have a passion for documenting how childhood adversities have affected the behaviour of young people, especially in Nigeria, where the government seems to be less responsive towards promoting positive childhood experiences. I have passionately campaigned about how negative childhood experiences can affect the behaviour of people and how traumas have been transmitted across generations, and I hope to bridge scientific research with real-world impact, thereby ensuring that we raise children into active adults who can contribute meaningfully to the development and sustainable growth of Nigeria. I am also a behaviour interventionist, and I am certified in Applied Behaviour Analysis.
