Specialisation SOCIAL GERONTOLOGY/ OLD AGE SECURITY STUDIES

Personal Statement

I am an internationally trained researcher and advocate in social gerontology, with a deep commitment to advancing policies and interventions that enhance the well-being and security of older adults. With a strong dedication to promoting dignity, equity, and social justice for aging populations, I strive to bridge academic research with real-world policy and practice – empowering communities, informing legislation, and fostering intergenerational solidarity. My research examines critical issues such as pension accessibility, retirement, age-friendly urban planning, and the social determinants of health in later life.

My ultimate goal is to translate evidence-based findings into scalable programs, policy recommendations, and advocacy initiatives that address the challenges of population aging, social exclusion, and economic vulnerability among older people.

Through collaborative, interdisciplinary partnerships, I aim to contribute to more inclusive and sustainable aging societies, both locally and globally.
