Personal Statement

I am very passionate about advancing policy solutions to the problems of development countries with special
focus on poverty, inequality and unemployment which have inhibited them from attaining development. My
research also aims at advocating various options towards curbing youth unemployment especially via
entrepreneurship, enhancing development of small and medium scale enterprises and social media options as
sources of creating employment opportunities. My work is concerned about using quantitative and qualitative
techniques to solve major development problems of African countries in general and Nigeria in particular. With
special focus on attaining sustainable development as relates to the United Nations SDG goals. My work
focuses on developing avenues toward attaining sustainable development by embracing the need for security,
private – public partnership, infrastructural development, reducing the cost of doing business and curbing
corruption. My ultimate goal is to translate research to guide public and private policy making (National and
International) that addresses Africa’s development challenges.
